Perspectives Manager

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

In our previous videos, we’ve discussed how users create objects, and how they define and manage relationships between them.

We’ve also spent time discussing the paradigm shift that the ITinvolve solution introduces with Social Knowledge Management. The next step in the process is to organize and visualize this collective knowledge in the proper context for the role of the user or department. The ITinvolve solution calls this organization and visualization of the collected knowledge a Perspective.

Each person or department in an IT organization can create a Perspective that best helps them visualize relationships and collaborate as they work on change, incident, or problem management cycles.

In this video we will cover:

• How to build a perspective and add relationships
• What to consider when building a perspective

Perspectives allows you to comprehend complex, interrelated objects in your IT environment from unique vantage points while improving the lines of communication between teams. Perspectives also provides the foundation for impact analysis, as seen in our Change Impact Analzer video.

Change Lifecycle Manager

Wednesday, June 6th, 2012

ITinvolve’s Change Lifecycle Manager addresses a number of common obstacles in the change management process. In this video we’ll hit those points as we continue to look at an example from our previous videos involving John, Bruce, and Kelly.

We’ll discuss:

• Creating a change record
• Defining change items
• Leveraging impact analysis to assess risk
• Managing the change approval process
• Streamlining the CAB meeting with Virtual CAB

So let’s set the scene—Bruce and the network team have identified an issue with the switch located in rack d-05. This rack has an ESX server that one of the finale middleware servers is hosted on. The decision is made that the switch needs to be replaced, and Bruce is preparing the change record.

By using Change Lifecycle Manager, Bruce will demonstrate how to use the unique ITinvolve solution to streamline the change process.
