Perspectives Manager

Wednesday, July 25th, 2012

One of the things that ITinvolve did that was a truly different was to provide individually meaningful views of complex information in order to help IT staff quickly understand and comprehend the impacts of changes. We know that people see their IT environment from the vantage point of their particular role. When you look at a problem, you have to be able to look at it from every angle (i.e. security, compliance, performance, etc.) and if each team can assess risk based on their expertise, everybody wins. That’s why we created Perspectives to group technology objects in a way that provides each of the different users in the environment their own view of how technology objects affect them. So if I’m a security professional, I might be more interested in seeing how a particular setting could kick me out of compliance with a particular regulation These are the kinds of things Perspectives can give you to assess a change impact from different and relevant points of view.

System Administrators

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

From the beginning of ITinvolve, one of the things we knew had to be at the front of our thoughts was how system administrators were going to use this product, and why they would use it. We really believe that in general, System Administrators are people who want to collaborate and who want to understand problems; they’re analysts by nature. Unfortunately, tools sometimes prevent collaboration and prevent groups from supporting each other. It’s not that people don’t want to work together. It’s that sometimes the tool prevents them from doing it.

So one of the things we wanted to do was to analyze that. We started asking what would make a System Administrator more effective. We knew that we needed to give them greater visibility of their environment. We needed to make updating info in the environment very simple and easy. And, we also wanted to give them visibility around not only technology objects and relationships, but also around which people are dependent on their services.

So it’s not only the technology objects in relationships; it’s the people in relationships. That’s why we built a collaboration capability that brings people together and facilitates collaboration in context of a problem on a specific technology object. And, we made it easy to capture important knowledge gained during the course of collaboration sessions—so key information can be reused in the future. We paid great attention to reducing the administrative burden on System Admins, because we knew the last thing they wanted to do was to learn another tool to document information – and receive little value in return. With ITinvolve, our Sys Admin customers are amazed at the value they get.

How Perspectives from ITinvolve is changing the game

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

If seeing is believing, then you’ve got to see how the unique perspectives you can get from ITinvolve change the whole game.  While most people recognize that every person has a different outlook on things from their own perspective, until now no one has done anything about it when it comes to IT changes.  Until we introduced ITinvolve for Change Management.

Now every IT professional or group can get instant visibility into how a particular technology object relates to themselves and others in the IT environment.  By visually mapping out relationships among objects in your environment, ITinvolve Perspectives let IT managers and administrators quickly see how their particular sphere of responsibility relates to groups or objects in the IT environment.

Here’s an example of a perspective view in ITinvolve for a proposed change to a router.  You can easily see where other technology objects in the environment overlap and get an instant “impact analysis”.  Pretty amazing.

Take a closer look for yourself at the Perspectives page of the product section of our web site and watch the short video that helps explain how it can work for you.  You’ll begin to see the advantages this new change management tool can make from day one.

Results Manager

Wednesday, July 4th, 2012

At ITinvolve, we believe that you can’t improve what you can’t measure. Operating inside your IT environment without a way to measure results is like trying to fly a plane without any gauges.

You need a way to visualize and understand your trouble areas—a tool that provides ultimate visibility of the issues in your environment so you know when and where to take action. ITinvolve’s Results Manager is your cockpit–telling you everything you need to know in order to measure your progress and dramatically improve your results.

We’re translating data from your environment into usable information that you can act on. Whether that’s a heat map that helps you spot a problem area or trending charts that allow you to better understand your results over time.

You’ll have reports available to demonstrate compliance to regulations, and system administrators will have detailed information to show their contributions to the company.

On top of that, Results Manager provides a wide variety of reports.

You’ll be able to do things like track the trends of emergency changes over a six-month period, or view a report that shows how many IT changes put into the pipeline for the current month were actually implemented.

And with reports like Average Process Time Per Change, CAB members and end users will understand how long it takes to put a change through the system, so you can track how ITinvolve is improving the efficiency of your change management.

What’s great is, Results Manager is completely customizable. Each dashboard can be configured to a person’s specific role or to the specific information your company requires, so you’re seeing results that matter most to you.
